David Walliams lost his contract with publishing house.

The author

Prolific writer for children and TV personality David Walliams is no longer with his UK book publisher, according to an announcement.

An official for the firm stated: "Following a thorough review, and under the leadership of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the decision was reached following an investigation into claims about inappropriate behaviour directed at women.

The publisher has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, stating: "We refrain from speaking about internal matters."

A Prolific Publishing History

Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, with sales exceeding over six tens of millions of copies internationally in 55 languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins back in 2008.

Several of his books, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as television films.

To date, he has released more than 40 books in total, including a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE several years ago for his services to the charitable sector and arts community.

This move occurs subsequent to the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive in October.
