As we head into the last weekend of the regular NFL campaign, just two play-off spots are still up for grabs. Yet, far more is at stake, such as the highly desired top seeds in both conferences and several division titles.
The schedule makers have produced a perfect finale, with the final two play-off positions to be decided in two direct head-to-head matchups.
The winner of the Steelers-Ravens contest will secure the #4 spot and a home-field advantage in the first playoff round. At the same time, the Bills and the Chargers are set as wildcard entrants.
Houston need a win and a Jaguars defeat to climb from the fifth seed to the third seed. Denver will earn the #1 ranking with a triumph, but a setback could pave the way for New England or the Jaguars to snatch it.
The NFC South will be claimed by the victor of the Panthers-Buccaneers game, earning them the #4 position. However, the Panthers could still win the divisional title even with a defeat, contingent on other results.
Green Bay are set at the seventh seed. The marquee matchup, though, is the battle for the NFC's top seed between the Seahawks and the 49ers, with a week off and home playoff games on the line.
The top seed in each conference earns a crucial bye week and home games for the duration of the play-offs.
During Wildcard Weekend, the remaining six qualified teams compete: the second seed plays the #7 team, #3 plays #6, and fourth hosts fifth.
For the Divisional Round, the #1 seeds join the fray, hosting the weakest surviving team. The AFC and NFC championship games are then played at the highest seed, highlighting the immense value of earning that top spot.
Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Baltimore Ravens (01:20, Monday)
This fierce rivalry reaches its climax in the final game of the regular season. With the AFC North and a postseason spot at stake, this is a true elimination scenario.
Pittsburgh have been inconsistent all year, while Baltimore started poorly but are still in the hunt. Key injuries could be decisive: The Steelers may be without star receiver their top wideout, while Baltimore's quarterback Lamar Jackson is questionable with a back injury.
Running back Derrick Henry could be the x-factor for Baltimore in what promises to be a physical, low-scoring struggle.
Seattle Seahawks @ San Francisco 49ers (01:00, Sunday)
More than just the division title is at stake when the Seahawks visits San Francisco. The victorious team claims the NFC's top seed and the road to the championship game that comes with it.
This game features an explosive 49ers offense against a stingy Seattle defense. With QB Brock Purdy came back, the 49ers have been the league's top offense. Conversely, Seattle's unit is ranked second best in the league.
The Seahawks' quarterback their passer needs to cut down on mistakes that have haunted him this year. Whoever comes out on top earns a massive edge for the postseason journey.
Carolina Panthers @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (21:30 Saturday)
Neither team enters this game with much momentum. The Buccaneers have lost four straight, while the Panthers have squandered chances to secure the division.
The Panthers it's simple: win and they're in. For Tampa Bay, the scenario is more complex. Even with a win, they require another result from the Atlanta-New Orleans matchup to claim the division crown.
Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Tennessee Titans (18:00, Sunday)
Miami Dolphins @ New England Patriots (21:25, Sunday)
Los Angeles Chargers @ Denver Broncos (21:25, Sunday)
Denver hold the cards for the #1 AFC spot. A victory over a L.A. Chargers team expected to sit key players seals it.
If the Broncos lose, the door opens for the Patriots. A New England victory combined with a Denver defeat would give the top seed to Bill Belichick's team.
Jacksonville are the long shot. They need a triumph and losses by both Denver and New England to achieve an improbable ascent to #1. More importantly, a Jaguars loss could see them passed by the Houston Texans in the division standings.
